Brad Paisley!

I recently had my seventeenth birthday, and to celebrate, my parents got me tickets to see one of my favorite artists, Brad Paisley. I asked my friend Kelly to come along, and we had a blast! Brad is an amazing guitar player, and his songs always run a good five minutes longer than the recordings, because of his inability to control his urge to spice them up with a great guitar solo. He had three opening acts, who were all pretty entertaining, as well. There was Julianne Hough, who I wasn't too thrilled to see, as she just tends to annoy me. Next up was Chuck Wicks, whose song "Stealing Cinderella" is one of those sappy songs I just don't enjoy, but I thoroughly love his song "All I Ever Wanted". It was still rather light out when he was performing, so it was pretty difficult to get a good look at him on the big screen. Based on the chiseled silhouette we could make out from the glared screen, Kelly and I decided that he was good looking, which made the performance even more enjoyable. (Later, we went to our good friend, Google Images, and confirmed our faith in Chuck's attractiveness.) The last opening act was Jewel, and I was really excited to see her. She was amazing, and if I didn't love her before, I do now. After she sang all the songs in her set (she had even replaced one of them with a patriotic song after meeting with some soldiers before the show), she went on to give us insight into one of the craziest things I've ever witnessed. She yodeled. I can't begin to explain it, so here's a video:

After she finished, it was finally time for Brad! He was amazing with his clever combination of hilarious songs, like "I'm Still A Guy", and tearjerkers, like "When I Get Where I'm Going". I enjoyed every minute of it, and I'm willing to say it was one of the best birthday presents ever!

My mom attempted to take a picture of us, but it didn't work out too well. I'm the one closest to the camera, and farther away is Kelly.

I'm Ready...

I think I'm ready to reenter the blogging world, even though I don't feel as if I ever entered full-fledged to begin with. Nonetheless, I feel like this will be a great outlet for me during the stress of college applications, and all that tags along with them. I would say I'm just your typical high school senior, but I guess that's not completely true. If you compare me to my friends, I'm pretty much normal, but our normal involves an obsession with all things Jonas (see my header image), a taste for somewhat obscure music, a love for "The Office" (and quoting it constantly), and a deeply-rooted wish that our letters had come from Hogwarts when we turned eleven. Be prepared to be flung into the whirlwind of our many crazy schemes, and I hope you enjoy reading what I've got to say!
